FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you sell Kamut®?

We started this business because of Kamut® brand Khorasan wheat. It is one of our very favorite ancient grains, and one of the best well known. However, we are no longer selling this brand. We now stock both organic and  regeneratively grown Khorasan wheat - the same type of wheat that Kamut® comes from. Instead of being organic like Kamut®, our Khorasan wheat is grown regeneratively - similar to organic standards, with an added emphasis on building and regenerating healthy soils. Our Khorasan wheat suppliers take great care of their crops and soil, and this flour is just as good as the Kamut® brand for flavor, baking, milling and texture. It's the same type of Khorasan wheat and has very similar properties and behavior traits you've come to love about the Kamut® brand of Khorasan wheat and flour. To learn more, see our Khorasan Wheat information page

When will an item be back in stock?

Inventory depends on customer demand and how quickly our suppliers can get their product to us. We won't know exact arrival dates until we receive word from our suppliers. We will send an email notice to all subscribed customers as items become available again.

Are your products locally sourced?

We believe its important to support local businesses and farmers whenever possible. Our Premium West Mountain bread flour is locally grown grown and milled here in UT. All other grains and flour are sourced from Idaho and Montana - as close to local as we can possibly get for the varieties we sell.

Are your products organic?

We believe in only using and selling the best products. Most of the items we sell are organic. If they're not certified organic, they are grown regeneratively with an emphasis on building healthy, clean soils naturally.

How are ancient grains better than the grain/flour I can buy from the grocery store?

The short answer: Ancient grains have amazing nutrition, flavor, and health benefits that modern grain just doesn't have. Click here (ancient grains page) for a more detailed explanation.

Do ancient grains behave differently than the grain/flour I'm used to?

Yes and no, but don't let the differences scare you! For a more detailed explanation, please watch this video explaining the basics of ancient grains and this video discussing the differences between modern wheat and anceint grains, also what to expect when you use these different types of ancient grains. Also see the White Khorasan Flour FAQ.

Can I use ancient grains in my every day baking/cooking?

Certainly! See our recipes page for ideas of how you can incorporate these grains into your every day life. Also see the White Khorasan Flour FAQ.

What is the best flour to use for baking bread?

You can make bread out of literally any grain. All of our ancient grains are packed full of flavor, and we're sure you'll love them - but if you're looking for an all around amazing flour to use that will really give your bread some "umphf", we recommend a good, strong bread flour. Our favorite is our Central Milling, Artisan Baker's Craft flour- we love to use this flour to give our bread great structure and rise! Use it on its own or with another flour, you'll get great bread every time, especially for sourdough breads.

How do I store grains?

For more information on storing grain/flour, click here (link to storing grains/flour page).

Can I mill my own grains instead of buying flour?

There are many reasons you may consider milling your own wheat berries. Milling your own grain ensures you have fresh flour on hand when you need it. If you're someone who bakes a lot during the week, this is a good option for you, and is also the most cost effective option in the long run! We sell the Mockmill - our favorite line of home mills as well as grain, and teach you how to mill yourself, so we've got you covered on all bases.

Do you teach classes? What classes are available?

Class sign ups are available through our Classes page. We offer Sourdough and Ancient Grains workshops. Classes are $54.00 per participant - all hands on, make your own bread. Bring your own bowl, measuring cups and measuring spoons, and we'll bring the rest! These are in person classes, taught in Pleasant Grove Utah.

How do I host a class?

Sign up to host a class here. This is a perfect option for those who can't make the in person class schedule, or who want a more specialized class/subject. The host does not pay the $45.00 fee. Gather a group of friends or family and learn together!

Do you teach online classes?

We currently don't have the space to teach hands on classes online, but we're working on it! We do however have video tutorials you can follow along with that are some great resources to refer to.

Where is your store located?

We are based in Pleasant Grove, Utah. We are a small, family operated, home-run business, and store the products we sell here on our property. We are looking to expand and open a store front but until we do, please bear with us as we do our absolute best to bring you quality products.

Can I pick up my order outside of pickup hours?

We ask that when possible, plan to pick up during pickup hours. However, we understand that life happens, and not everyone is always available during that time frame. If you need to pick up your order at another time, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Do you ship?

Yes! Anywhere in the U.S. To learn more about our shipping policy, click here.

Can I return or exchange a product?

To learn more about our Return/Exchange policy, click here.

How long do I have to pick up my order?

Because we are a home-run business, we have limited storage capability, and frequently need space for incoming product. We are able to keep your order for up to 4-5 days from the order date. All orders not picked up in this time frame will be refunded in full.

How does your ordering and pickup process work?

We have an online store set up for your shopping convenience - you can purchase online, and pick up your order in person during pickup hours (you will receive a follow up email to arrange your pickup day/time). This is the method we have found works best for our business model.

However, if you would prefer to stop by before purchasing, we kindly ask that you inform us of your preference, and abide by our pickup hours when planning to visit in person. Although we would love to accept walk-in customers, we are not yet a store front and are therefore unable to accommodate multiple people in our small space at one time (informing us and arranging a time to stop by prevents physical overlap of customers).

We are able to take cash, card, or Venmo for in person payment.
